Safety Supervisor

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing safety & security operations at International School Bangkok (ISB). This includes daily campus safety management, supervising security teams, and ensuring compliance with child safeguarding policies. The role also involves conducting risk assessments, supporting safety initiatives, and preparing weekly and monthly reports for department heads.

Duties and Responsibilities:

a. Main Duties

1. Review the daily Guard Incident Report, analyze incidents, propose resolutions, and update the Security Manager.

2. Monitor and evaluate the daily and monthly performance of Security Leaders and Guards to ensure:

• Compliance with Security Work Instructions, Procedures, Child Protection Policies, and Emergency Response Plans.

• Security tools and equipment are well-maintained and ready for use at all times.

• Security bases are rotated, with clear understanding of roles and responsibilities at each station.

• Adequate security manpower is maintained.

• Development plans are implemented as needed to enhance team performance.

3. Collaborate with the Security Leader to ensure safety protocols are followed and a safe working environment is maintained across the school.

4. Oversee traffic safety to ensure smooth and safe road conduct for all ISB members.

5. Assist the Security Manager with investigations and submit reports, including recommendations, on injury cases or child safeguarding issues as assigned.

6. Conduct regular safety inspections of school facilities to identify and address potential hazards.

7. Ensure emergency preparedness by maintaining effective communication with the School Emergency Response Team and cascading relevant protocols.

8. Immediately report any incidents, violent acts, or potential concerns on campus to the Security Manager.

9. Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures in alignment with local regulations and school guidelines.

10. Maintain and update emergency response plans, conduct regular drills, and ensure all staff and students are trained in emergency procedures.

11. Document and investigate all safety incidents and accidents, providing recommendations for corrective actions.

12. Perform additional duties as assigned by the school or supervisor. 

b. Subsidiary Activities 

1. Coordinate with the Pakkret Fire Department to organize fire drills and evacuation exercises.

2. Liaise with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, including drug and alcohol testing and safety patrols.

3. Manage maintenance requests for safety tools and equipment in coordination with vendors.

4. Collaborate with the Summer Renovation Project team to oversee school admittance and registration processes.

5. Work with other departments on FMX requests, including near-miss reports, fire exit checks, and scheduling safety inspections.

6. Coordinate with with the Nursing Team for patient transport to hospitals and ensure AED devices are always ready for use.

Qualifications and Key Attributes:

• Bachelor degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Bachelor Degree in any field with Safety Officer Supervisory Leavel training course.

• Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g. Word Processing, Databases, Spreadsheets).

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in safety management (experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage).

• Strong English communication skills, both writing and spoken.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on leadership and teamwork.

• Proven ability to investigate and manage safety incidents and hazards effectively.

Working Hours:  

• Monday – Friday(8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and Saturday (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
