Job Description
The APAC-Chiko Regional Ethics & Compliance Leader (RE&CL) role will be responsible for creating a best-in-class Ethics & Compliance program for Tyson Foods and subsidiaries in the region. The RE&CL role will be responsible implementing and managing the ethics and compliance program in the region, which includes: promoting a culture of ethics and compliance; establishing and implementing global compliance policies, procedures and controls; monitoring adherence to program requirements; and delivering effective training in the region.
Responsibilities:
- Promoting a Culture of Compliance: Implements plans and strategies to continue development of a culture of ethics & compliance in the region.
- Developing and Implementing Compliance Programs: Create and execute compliance strategies and programs tailored to the region’s regulatory environments and the organization's specific industry. This includes policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
- Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in the region where the organization operates. Ensure all business practices and operations comply with these regulations.
- Ethics Oversight and Training: Promote a culture of ethics and integrity within the organization by developing and delivering ethics training programs. Provide guidance on ethical dilemmas and ensure ethical decision-making at all levels.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities in the region’s operations. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and implement controls to prevent compliance breaches.
- Monitoring and Auditing: Establish monitoring and auditing processes to assess compliance with policies and regulations in the region. Conduct regular audits and investigations as needed, and ensure findings are addressed promptly.
- Reporting and Communication: Report regularly to the Executive Leadership Team and Senior Business Partners on compliance issues, risks, and mitigation efforts in the region. Ensure open communication channels for reporting compliance concerns.
- Vendor and Third-Party Due Diligence: Oversee due diligence processes for vendors, suppliers, and third parties in region to ensure they meet ethical and compliance standards required by the organization.
- Building Relationships: Collaborate with regional leadership, regional compliance officers, legal teams, and other internal and external stakeholders (government agencies, industry bodies) to promote a compliant business environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance compliance programs and initiatives in APAC based on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Global Alignment: Ensure alignment of the region’s ethics and compliance activities with global corporate policies and standards. Collaborate with counterparts in other regions to share best practices and ensure consistency in ethics and compliance efforts worldwide.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
- Master’s degree, law degree, forensic accounting and/or Compliance certifications, investigative experience would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in building and leading global ethics & compliance programs in multi-national companies.
- Advanced proficiency in using various due diligence screening tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels of the organization.
- Able to travel overseas upon request.
