Reports To: Senior Manager Quality (Thai National)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality System Engineer to support and lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Automotive Quality System (IATF 16949) across our Manufacturing Facility in Thailand. This position will ensure full compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, VDA requirements, and other applicable quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational resilience, improve quality assurance processes, and manage documentation control for all manufacturing certifications.Â
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the quality system for the Thai manufacturing facility.
- Spearhead the certification process for IATF 16949 and ensure compliance with all applicable quality standards.
- Ensure the release, maintenance, and compliance of all certification-related documentation (IATF 16949, ISO14001, etc.).
- Manage document control processes, ensuring proper distribution, withdrawal, and updates of all relevant quality management system documents.
- Coordinate and support external audits (customer and third-party) at the Thai facility.
- Act as the lead auditor for IATF 16949 certification and participate in process audits, including VDA 6.3, Layer audits, and other relevant audits.
- Review and ensure proper implementation of customer-specific requirements (CSR).
- Organize and conduct internal audits and management reviews, including quality management system audits and process compliance audits, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are addressed effectively.
- Provide training across the organization related to quality systems, including IATF16949, AIAG 6 manuals, and problem-solving techniques.
- Collaborate with divisions and sites to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality system.
- Review and suggest improvements to quality management processes and ensure continuous enhancement of the system.
- Coordinate monthly automotive quality reporting and assist with related documentation.
- Organize and support the annual quality month events in Thailand.
- Lead continuous improvement activities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5-8 years of experience in quality system management, preferably within the Tier 1 automotive sector.
- Certifications: Certified Internal Auditor for IATF16949; Lead Auditor certification is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of IATF16949 quality systems and familiarity with ISO14001.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality system management, Business Management Systems, product lifecycle management, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with AIAG 6 manuals (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan).
- Experience with OEM customers’ specific quality requirements, such as GM BIQS, Stellantis QSB+, VW Formal-Q, Ford Q1, etc.
- Knowledge of VDA6.3 for process audits, VDA6.5 for product audits, and process layer audits.
- Fluent in both Thai and English with excellent communication skills.
