We are a leading Japanese global packaging company, with a workforce of around 1,000 employees.

As part of a global group of companies, we deliver innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to customers worldwide. With our continued growth, we are looking for Safety & Environment Department Manager to lead and manage all safety and environmental programs within the company, ensuring compliance with Thai regulations and promoting a safe and environmentally. With over 3 years of experience, this role will be responsible for identifying potential risks, implementing safety procedures, and ensuring that environmental standards are met in accordance with Thai laws and the company’s sustainability goals. This manager must also be willing to support other departments in achieving their safety and environmental goals, promoting cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in safety and environmental management, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment in Thailand.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

• In-depth knowledge of Thai safety and environmental regulations.

• Knowledge of Knowledge of

• Strong knowledge of chemical hazard management, HSE laws and regulations, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 and implementation. 

• Proven track record of leading safety audits, risk assessments, and environmental compliance programs.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to managing safety and environmental risks.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. (Need to communicate with Japanese Director and contact headquarters in Japan)

• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of performance. Stay calm and focused while managing tasks in a high-pressure environment.

• Strong analytical skills, able to report on safety and environmental data.

• Ability to lead a team effectively and inspire a culture of safety and environmental responsibility

• Cooperative and service-oriented mindset, actively engaging with and supporting other departments in safety and environmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Safety & Environment team, ensuring effective implementation of safety protocols and environmental regulations.

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs to align with Thai regulations

• Create strategies to reduce workplace accidents, promote employee well-being, and minimize the company’s environmental impact.

• Ensure full compliance with Thai safety and environmental laws

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new environmental laws and industry standards in Thailand and ensure the company is prepared for inspections and audits.

• Conduct regular safety and environmental risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards or risks in the workplace.

• Investigate incidents, accidents and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

• Emergency response procedures and ensure employees are trained for all types of emergencies.

• Lead the company’s sustainability initiatives, focusing on reducing waste, conserving energy, and minimizing the carbon footprint.

• Implement continuous improvements to enhance safety performance and reduce environmental impact.

• Recommend new technologies and solutions to improve the company's environmental sustainability.

• Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and environmental awareness. Provide guidance and support to team members.

• Provide regular reports to top management regarding safety and environmental performance, including compliance, incidents, and improvement initiatives.

• Communicate safety and environmental goals to all levels of the organization,

• Promote a zero-accident culture and maintain a safe workplace

• Determine occupational health and safety work plans to achieve the objectives of the organization.  

• Conduct a plan and control operations in accordance with requirements of the ISO14001 system and the requirements of ISO45001, as well as the requirements of the global company and other requirements.  

• Set a plan for training in occupational health and safety as required by law or there is a need for training. 

• Analyze the results of the risk assessment and find preventive measures in reducing and controlling risks   

• Supervise occupational health work and safety to be effectiveness  

• Study, analyze, and give a recommendation which might have an effectiveness to solve problems in operations.  

• Control and carry out activities to promote safety awareness. 

• Be the main contact for all safety and environmental matters in the company.

• Maintain strong physical health to meet the demands of the role including on-site visits to factories in different locations.
