Data Engineer - Hybrid Working

Cathcart Technology is partnering with a fast-growing tech company that’s expanding its data team and looking for a passionate Data Engineer to help shape the future of influencer marketing analytics.

If you're excited by social media platforms and want to build data systems that power real-time insights and impactful marketing decisions — this role is for you!

You'll help develop clean, scalable data pipelines and manage rich influencer datasets that fuel powerful KOL (Key Opinion Leader) analytics across Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities:

• Build ETL pipelines using social media APIs and web scraping tools

• Clean and structure influencer data (e.g. images, stats, audience insights)

• Design and optimize databases for high-speed querying (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, BigQuery)

• Maintain real-time data flows and refresh logic

• Develop data validation rules to ensure reliability and accuracy

• Collaborate with backend engineers to build seamless data APIs

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role

• Proficiency in Python and SQL

• Hands-on experience with database systems such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, or similar

• Experience in building ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines

• Web scraping experience using tools such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, or Playwright

• Strong knowledge of data validation techniques to ensure clean and complete data

• Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Kafka or Airflow

• Experience with API integration from social platforms is a plus
