We are currently seeking an Advanced R&D Engineer to join our team in our Chonburi, Thailand office.

"In October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.”

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:

a.      Conduct research to understand existing chemical processes and identify areas for improvement.

b.      Design and direct high-impact research projects, ensuring they align with the department & company's innovation goals.

c.      Drive the development of cutting-edge technologies or methodologies in the chemical field.

d.      Select and design appropriate equipment for chemical plating processes, considering factors such as material compatibility, safety, and efficiency.

e.      Provide input on long-term research plans and technological advancements.

2.      Process Design and Optimization:

a.      Design and develop new chemical processes or modify existing ones to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability. This involves analyzing data, troubleshooting issues, and implementing changes for optimization.

b.      Optimize process parameters to achieve desired outcomes, such as increased yield, reduced waste, and lower production costs.

c.      Assess and manage risks associated with R&D projects, ensuring that potential challenges are identified and addressed proactively.

d.      Select and design appropriate equipment for chemical plating processes, considering factors such as material compatibility, safety, and efficiency.

3.      Safety and Compliance:

a.      Ensure that new chemical processes comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.

b.      Identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with the new chemical plating processes.

c.      Stay abreast of safety regulatory requirements and ensure that R&D activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.

4.      Scale-Up:

a.      Work on scaling up laboratory processes to larger production scales, ensuring that the developed processes can be implemented on an industrial scale. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, and technicians, to bring projects from concept to implementation.

5.      Intellectual Property Management:

a.      Oversee the creation and protection of intellectual property, including patents, trade secrets, and proprietary technologies.

b.      Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards regarding intellectual property.

6.      Documentation and Reporting:

a.      Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

b.      Maintain detailed records of experiments, process parameters, and results.

c.      Effectively communicate research findings, project updates, and strategic plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

7.      Mentorship:

a.      Provide mentorship to other R&D staff and ISC process engineers, guiding them in their projects, activities, and professional development.

b.      Foster a collaborative and innovative research culture within the R&D team.

MUST HAVE:

·       Experience in Chemical process preferably Ni+Au plating on OFC copper.

·       Experience in transferring new technologies to manufacturing is required.

·       Experience directly applying DOE, statistical methods.

·       Experience in designing production equivalent rapid prototypes.

·       Has experience working on cross functional technical teams and has the capability of providing coordination among groups or functions

·       Decision Making – Required to make data driven decisions on technical issues.

·       Knowledge of DOE’s, Statistical analysis of data & SPC is desired.

·       Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience implementing continuous improvement projects.
